Our School

Marist Alternative Education Limited is contracted to Orewa College to offer 27 student places. Students are aged between 13 and 16 years old and can remain at Marist until the end of the year they turn 16. Our students arrive disengaged from mainstream education for a variety of reasons including continual truancy and non-compliance.

When they arrive at Marist, they walk through the door with a clean slate, not  only on their first day, but every day. Students have an Individual Learning Plan developed by their third week at Marist which includes both long-term and short-term educational and pastoral goals. This plan is regularly reviewed collaboratively by the student, staff and whanau to ensure their ever-changing needs are being met.
