Enrolment
The young people of the Marist Learning Centre are students of Orewa College, who hold the alternative education contract with the Ministry of Education. The coordinator of the Alternative Education Centres across the North Shore Region is Mr Cam Fisher. He meets with students and their families and then places them in a centre based on the students’ needs and ability.

If your child is placed at the Marist Learning Centre, the student is first admitted for a two week trial period. If this goes well, and the student finds that s/he can fit into this setting, s/he makes a “contract” to follow the spirit and the rules of the Centre.
Each student is assessed to find what achievements and capabilities they currently possess, and to enable us to work out a programme of studies and activities that meets his/her present needs and develops his/her potential.
